The Arundel Castle was a mail ship and I have shown her leaving the harbour of Cape town South Africa. The time period would be around 1950s. The harbour off the stern of the Arundel Castle has several ships berthed and Cape town in the distance. Thats table mountain behind her. I like doing harbour scenes because you can do so much with them. Gathering reference of the location and the ship was not as difficult to locate as I thought it might be. I did a raw umber underpainting before I started in with any additional colours.
